The Colts Neck Friends of the Library will hold a spring book sale on May 2 and 3 at the Monmouth County Library branch. This two-day event takes place in the lower level at 2 Veterans Way.

Saturday, May 2, will feature per-item pricing. A preview hour runs from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for $5 per person, while free admission begins at 10 a.m. and continues through 4 p.m.

Teachers with school identification can fill a bag with books for $5 after 10 a.m. on Saturday. Want to scan books with phone apps? That'll cost you $5.

Sunday, May 3, offers $5 bags of books. Free admission runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers can purchase a reusable friends bag for $5 and receive $1 off one $5 book purchase at the sale.

Payment options include cash or checks with a $25 minimum. Attendees should bring their own bags to carry purchases.

According to Patch, the sale will use both the main room and foyer in the lower level. Scanner fees apply on both days for those who want to use phone apps to check book values.

Those interested can find more information through the Facebook page for the organization. Contact options also include emailing cnfriendslibrary@gmail.com or calling 732-431-5656.

The event marks the annual spring fundraiser for the group. Book sales help support programs and services at the local branch.

Hours differ between the two days, with Saturday running one hour longer than Sunday. The preview hour on Saturday gives early access to shoppers willing to pay the entrance fee.

The reusable bag promotion only applies one time during the sale. You can't combine this discount with other offers or use it multiple times.
