The Wawa Foundation gave JFS a $15,000 grant. The money will stock pantry shelves with groceries and necessities that walk-in clients need, plus fund deliveries to homes across South Jersey.

JFS Mobile Pantry runs seven weekly distributions at partner locations. Atlantic Cape Community College hosts one site. Oceanside Family Success Centers, South Jersey Family Medical Center, Best of Life, Spanish Community Center, and the JFS Atlantic City office also serve as distribution points.

Food insecurity hits 13.3% of Atlantic County residents each day, according to the most recent Feeding America study. Cape May County sees 12.3% of its population struggle with the same issue.

The mobile pantry distributes fresh produce, dairy products, shelf-stable groceries, meats, poultry, and protein sources to individuals and families who need help. JFS connects people to wraparound programs that include counseling, housing aid, and job services.

"For more than eight years, The Wawa Foundation has been a steadfast JFS partner through its generous charitable giving," said JFS CEO Andrea Steinberg to Down Beach. "Their commitment to support healthy living programs and hunger relief efforts plays a critical role in building stronger, healthier communities."

The pantry distributed more than 260,000 pounds of groceries and necessities in 2025. Over 13,000 residents received help. Among them were 4,850 children who got assistance through the program.

Staff and volunteers brought more than 1,500 kosher meals to older adults throughout the region last year. Holocaust survivors received some of these deliveries.
