The North to Shore Festival comes back to New Jersey from June 13 through June 28. Shows will happen in Newark, Asbury Park, and Freehold. The New Jersey Performing Arts Center will host the event with acts like Janelle Monáe, the Black Crowes, the Bouncing Souls, and Sublime.
Newark shows will bring Janelle Monáe, who starred in 2016's Hidden Figures and put out The Age of Pleasure in 2023. The Black Crowes, a rock band famous for "She Talks to Angels" and "Remedy," will also play at the venue. NJPAC will feature Alison Krauss & Union Station, comic Iliza Shlesinger, Joe Bonamassa, and Jesse & Joy.
Asbury Park gets the Bouncing Souls, a punk band born in New Brunswick. Yellowcard, a pop-punk group, will perform. Kurt Vile, who plays multiple instruments, joins the lineup. Black Uhuru, a Jamaican reggae act, rounds out the bill. Yellowcard made hits like "Breathing" and "Ocean Avenue."
Freehold brings the Head and the Heart, an indie band. Sublime takes the stage. Dark Star Orchestra, a Grateful Dead tribute band, will play too. Sublime created songs like "What I Got" and "Wrong Way."
"With performances by globally recognized stars and groundbreaking local artists, this year's North to Shore Festival once again demonstrates the incredible artistic range, cultural vitality, and creative energy that define New Jersey," NJPAC president and CEO John Schreiber said, according to NJ Monthly.com.
Governor Mikie Sherrill spoke about the event in a statement, saying it puts a spotlight on homegrown talent and the state's arts scene. "The best way to kick off the summer season is by celebrating New Jersey's homegrown talent and vibrant arts scene — and that's exactly what attendees can expect at the 2026 North to Shore Festival," Sherrill said.
This three-city event runs 16 days. Musical acts and comedy shows fill the schedule. It puts local artists from the state on stage with talent from across the world.
