Seaside Heights To Host First Cupid’s Undie Run for Children’s Tumor Research
A cold dash in underwear awaits runners at Seaside Heights’ first Cupid’s Undie Run. Coming up on Feb. 15, 2025, at the Beachcomber Bar & Grill, this one-of-a-kind event supports the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
The party kicks off at noon and runs for four hours. At 2 p.m., participants will strip down to their underwear for a quick mile-long run. The mission? To raise money for research into neurofibromatosis and schwannomatosis, conditions that cause nerve tumors and seriously impact health.
This New Jersey run grew from a small D.C. event in 2010 that raised $30,000. Today, runners take to the streets in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and other cities, making a difference for the cause.
“From Boston to Orlando, Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles and dozens of cities in between, fearless fundraisers in eye-catching outfits, everything from superhero undies to laugh-out-loud costumes, will join in America’s most daring and fun-loving charity event,” an organizer said to app.com.
Run In Style!
Runners can wear creative costumes or keep it simple, anything goes here. The mile-long course works for both runners and walkers. Once everyone finishes, judges award prizes for the best-dressed participants. The event starts with music, food, and drinks. Local businesses chip in with prizes and send teams to join the run.
The funds raised help fight diseases that affect vision and mental function. Every donation helps researchers get closer to solutions. Their work has already led to new treatments for these challenging conditions.
These events pull in big crowds across the country each year. Many runners share personal stories about how these diseases have touched their families, bringing real meaning to the cause.
