We want to know if you have ever tried this and if it's good.  Hot Dr. Pepper is trending online!  A lot of people claim it's a great holiday drink. While the hot soda might not sound too good at first, this has been done in years past and it does have some history.

According to foodandwine.com the legend has it that a former president of the Dr Pepper Company came up with the idea for a hot soda in 1958, during colder months. This idea actually took off, and hot Dr Pepper was a popular holiday drink back in the '60s and '70s, especially in Texas, and to add this is where soda was invented.

Hot Dr. Pepper And How Is It Made

It's pretty simple as you heat up a two-liter of it in a crock pot, add some lemon, and enjoy.  But you don't have to use a crock pot, you can also warm it up in a regular pot on the stove. Most of the “recipes” for the Hot Dr. Pepper do recommend heating it to 180°F, which is enough to make it piping hot without reaching a boiling point, and you still add some lemon.

Gotts On Hot Dr Pepper And His Thoughts

I know around the holiday's, it mostly alcohol that gets us, and I would never turn down a nice drink of Jameson, and some Miller Lite, but in this case it would some something fun for the kids to do and try. I haven't read of any recipes of adding some alcohol to the hot Dr. Pepper just yet but I'm thinking, about trying it.

So in conclusion, from my family to yours, have a Merry Christmas and happy holidays and enjoy some hot Dr. Pepper. Gotts is the unofficial mascot of the county. Whenever WRAT is hosting an event, people ask if Gotts will be there. there. Like Bigfoot, many people claim to see him in the area. According to Gotts, he was thrown out of home school in Monroe Township. To keep up with his own legend, Gotts likes writing about wacky local news that happens – such as pepperoni vandals. His favorite movie is Point Break, and is a big lover of Miller Lite. His favorite words to live by are “The windshield is always bigger than the rearview mirror”.
