NJ Man Pleads Guilty To Chewing Off 78 Year Old's Ear

On Thursday, A 25-year-old Westfield man who reportedly chewed off a 78-year-old man's ear was brought to court for his alleged involvement in the "removal" of a few facial features back in 2023 in Oregon.

This would be Hannibal Lecter in question admitted to consuming alcohol, weed, and fentanyl pills.

So What Exactly Happened

The attacker's name is Koryn Daniel Kraemer, 25, and he pled guilty to a lesser charge of attempted assault. Just after 2 a.m. on Jan. 3, 2023, Kraemer approached a 78-year-old man, at the train station's platform area and physically attacked him.

After his arrest, and asked why he did this, Kraemer told officers that he believed the victim was a "robot" trying to kill him based on how the victim smelled. Just when you thought that was crazy, Kraemer also said he spit out the flesh of the victim that he had eaten and that police officers had saved his life by separating him from "the robot," said police.

Yes, he thought the 78-year-old was a robot.

Judge Shelley Russell sentenced Kraemer to serve 40 months in prison followed by 20 months of post-prison supervision.

Kraemer will remain in the custody of the Oregon Department of Corrections for the remainder of his imposed sentence. In January 2023, TriMet’s Cleveland MAX Station in Oregon issued a lifetime ban for Kraemer.
