For example, going to the beach, there are a lot of nude beaches. Then there’s the “Naked and Afraid” franchise which has been going for over a decade and still has a high number of viewers. Many of us have skinny-dipped at least once in our lifetime or streaked for fun or attention. While I might consider doing some of those things, this specific thing is not something that sounds like most of us would agree to.
This year’s annual Philly Naked Bike Ride is happening this weekend. For this year's clothing-optional event, naked cyclists will hit the streets tomorrow, Saturday, August 24th. It's the largest naked bike ride on the East Coast and the second largest in the country behind Portland, Oregon.
Naked Bike Ride Location, Route, and Start Time
Bring the kids! No, you can’t do that. As usual, to prevent any undue, unwanted, or unacceptable attention other than the thousands of people venturing on the 10-mile trek through the City of Brotherly Love, the exact meeting place, route, and start time is being kept secret until this afternoon.
Their website says, “Preride Festivities and Bodypaint opens at 2 pm, bodypaint shuts down at 4:30! Come early, mingle, decorate your fine-ass self, and have a blast! The ride is approximately 12 miles, and will take between 1.5- 2 hours to complete.”
The annual clothing-optional ride was formerly held in September, but that was found to be a bit too chilly for those not wearing pants. So in 2019, the organizers decided to move the ride to the warmer month of August.
The only year it was canceled was in 2020 when we were right in the middle of COVID, but bikers were back out hanging out and on the road in 2021.

The event, in which birthday suit-clad bicyclists journey through the city, is meant to boost body positivity and green living.
The Ride does have a code of conduct that states that they want to "desexualize nudity and to encourage everyone to embrace nudity as a normal, enjoyable way of life. Following this policy will help further this goal and teach all of us how to be better people in general."
