Middletown Boy Steals 2,000 Pound Asphalt Roller, Takes It Through Union Beach
This 13-year-old Middletown boy is going places but we don’t want him to get there like this. I was 13 once, and I think I was just learning how to drive, but maybe in a golf cart.
I don’t know how this kid learned to get this 2,000-pound machine in motion. If you don’t know, these Asphalt Rollers are made to used to compact soil, gravel, concrete, or asphalt in the construction of roads. All this went down last Tuesday evening according to the Union Beach Police Facebook page.
This teenager stole the 2,000-pound asphalt roller from a construction site in Union Beach and drove it around town. “This could have had a very different ending, fortunately the juvenile nor anyone else was injured.” Police Sgt. Michael Davis said.
The Outcome
This 13-year-old kid from Middletown was able to get this huge piece of machinery, take it from the construction site, and drive it from Park Avenue to Central to Spruce Street. This kid really will make us have a good laugh but thank God, no one was injured including himself on his little joyride, also no cars were damaged by the 1-ton construction vehicle.
The brave police officer that stopped the 13, year-old was Patrolman Kevin Finucan and got him into custody. Union Beach locals from that area of Park, Central, and Spruce streets are being asked to check their vehicles for tangible damage and report damage directly to Ptl. Finucan at (732) 264-0313.
I wonder when he turns 17, this will affect him getting a driver’s license? Thank you for taking the time out to check this story out and as always rocking out with me and Jersey’s Rat Radio 95.9 The Rat. You can also check out more stories just by clicking right HERE. Much LOVE and CHEERS. – Gotts
