Enter The Batcave: Garfield Wildlife Center Lets You Feed Bats
That’s right there is a wildlife center that will let you feed bats!
No “Jokers” are saying this too. New Jersey is home to a lot of different petting zoos, but this takes it to another level. So if you’re feeling a bit crazy and want to get into something wild, let’s have you enter the “Batcave.”
This is a low-lite area known as the “Batcave” with the bat symbol light on waiting for your arrival and is set for these flying rascals, ready for your hands to have a treat for them. Make sure to follow the Facebook page of the wildlife center for updates on events and maybe an upcoming move to a new location.
Where To Find This Batcave And What To Expect
We send you to the town of Garfield, to the Wildlife Conservation and Education Center located at 303 Midland Avenue, Garfield, NJ. Just look for our sign and they are saying it’s pretty much the ONLY sign on the block with bats on it!
From the second you walk in, you will find a bunch of small and cute animals making the place their home, like armadillos and chinchillas also you’ll see tanks full of reptiles, including some small crocs and gators. Joseph D’Angeli of the wildlife center is known as “NJ’s own Batman” to help these bats get the love they need from the Batcave are known as fruit bats which are their main attraction.
This timed general admission, which is available only online for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, offers guests the chance to feed these fruit bats with sticks and see them up close and personal. Tickets are $15.00 online or at the door. Tickets are to get guaranteed admission first in case of a sold-out session.
