Silverton Comes Together To Try And Save Beloved EMS

Mayor Dan Rodrick permanently closed the Silverton EMS. Now the community is rallying to save and reopen the beloved EMS that is so needed. The EMS is now on life support and needs all of Silverton's help to resuscitate it!

It began with a letter from the Toms River Chief Of Police, informing the Fire Department that Mayor Rodrick had asked him to pass along the decree that Silverton EMS would no longer be allowed to be dispatched for service calls. The mayor has cited financial irregularities as the reason for closing the Silverton EMS.

While no financial irregularities have been found, the EMS has been forced to close as the Mayor has reportedly withheld their funding. If true, this will undoubtedly cause the squad to have to sell their equipment and disband the Silverton EMS forever. Unless Silverton comes together to save the EMS, we will be in a desperate situation from a medical care standpoint! 

The ground swell has been fast and hard by local residents against this senseless and some would say vindictive move by the current Toms River administration. Donations have been flooding the Silverton EMS. Benefits are being planned, and check out our old friend Chef Umberto, a proud Silvertonian himself. Watch his powerful video here" 

The bottom line is this. The Silverton EMS MUST be reopened. Too many families in our area count on them. As Silverton residents, we all must band together and fight this wrongdoing. If you wish, you can go around with blinders, but you eventually will run into a wall. 

Then no one will be there to administer first aid and take you to the hospital. 

We are a proud community. We have to do our part. Write to the Mayor, the Council, and our State Senators. Let's have a rally. Let's have a benefit concert. Let's donate what we can. Every one. Let's support the Silverton EMS and get them back to the business of saving lives. OUR LIVES.
