Well here is one thing that will keep your bar bill down, a 50-year-old woman's body was making alcohol, out of Toronto.

Yes, you are reading that right, apparently, she was always reeking of booze and was dizzy and things got really scary when one day she was making lunch for her children when she passed out and hit her head on the kitchen counter.

Check this out, not a drop of booze ever entered her mouth. After all this, she went to the doctor a bunch of times and even swung through the emergency room at their local hospital.

She had seen a bunch of doctors over the past two years, to see what was going on. Over two years, not one doctor took her seriously.

Woman's Body Produces Alcohol And Why

This might sound crazy but, did you ever hear of  Auto-Brewery Syndrome?  It is also known as gut fermentation syndrome, and it is an extremely rare condition in which bacteria and fungus in the gastrointestinal tract turn the carbohydrates in everyday food into ethanol.

One doctor was on record saying “Part of the mystery of this syndrome is how these people can have these extremely high levels and still be walking around and talking.”

A Women Is Drinking Right From The Bottle

In her case, all of the emergency room doctors questioned the Toronto woman’s drinking habits, and she was examined by three different hospital doctors who said that she did not meet the details for the diagnosis of alcohol disorder.

She told doctors "her religion does not allow drinking", and her husband jumped in and said "She did not drink,” A doctor finally stepped up, named Dr. Rachel Zewude, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Toronto, ‘I think this sounds like auto-brewery syndrome,’ and sent her to a specialist.

Doctors found the woman’s alcohol levels could range between 30 millimoles per liter and 62 millimoles per liter — below 2 millimoles per liter is normal, Zewude said. Even other doctors were to say "Alcohol levels of up to 62 millimoles per liter are extraordinarily high and would be considered life-threatening, even fatal."

Here is some history on this very rare disease, the first time this popped up was in 1946 in Africa, when a 5-year-old boy’s stomach ruptured for some odd and unknown reason. An autopsy found his abdomen filled with a “frothy” fluid smelling of alcohol.

I always say " LET'S START BOOZING," but in her case, I hope she is okay and they get her back on the right track.

I know a lot of people that have these symptoms all the time, and pay for it! Thank you for taking the time out to check this story out and as always rocking out with me and 95.9 The Rat.

Gotts is the unofficial mascot of the county. Whenever WRAT is hosting an event, people ask if Gotts will be there. there. Like Bigfoot, many people claim to see him in the area. According to Gotts, he was thrown out of home school in Monroe Township. To keep up with his own legend, Gotts likes writing about wacky local news that happens – such as pepperoni vandals. His favorite movie is Point Break, and is a big lover of Miller Lite. His favorite words to live by are “The windshield is always bigger than the rearview mirror”.
