Jocks With Crocks: Crockpot BBQ Chicken with Rockyn Robyn
My life is mostly about music and food. I normally take the long way around the block when it comes to cooking. Meaning, I cook most everything from scratch, with little to no easy fixes.
No jarred gravy, no jarred sauce, and no packaged spice blends like packages of taco seasoning. Add each spice yourself to fit your personal heat and sweet preferences.
I have been known to “cheat” every now and then. For instance, when I made my last couple of rounds of empanadas, I used the Goya frozen empanada discs from my local grocery store.
I can easily make my own dough, but why should I do it on the regular. If it’s a really long day, or if there are time constraints, I use items that make life easier.
In this segment of “Jocks With Crocks”, I take the easy way to a delicious meal.
I’m not a trained chef, and I don’t have a lot of time on my hands, so on occasion I take shortcuts. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
At Jimmy Steal’s behest, I am now on the Crockpot train for my first episode, which is the second episode of the series.

Thank goodness “East Side Dave” isn’t involved. That dude takes processed food to a whole new level using Kraft Singles in the plastic wrapper and Doritos.
Now that dish is a stoner’s dream.
My dish is a Crockpot version of “Barbeque Chicken”.
The Ingredients include:
A couple of pounds of thin sliced chicken breasts
1/2 cup of your favorite bottled BBQ sauce
4 ounces of pineapple juice
2 tablespoons cornstarch added to the pineapple juice to make a slurry
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
½ cup brown sugar
Garlic
Ground chipotle pepper
Salt & Pepper
You pretty much toss all the ingredients into the Crockpot for 2 hours on high, and do what you have to do.
