Chili Cookoff Coming To Ship Bottom Brewery On Long Beach Island

Calling all chefs and home cooks Bring a pot of your best chili to the Ship Bottom Brewery's Chili Cookoff, this Saturday, January 20th!

The event will take place inside the Ship Bottom Brewery, located at 830 North Bay Avenue in the Beach Haven section of Long Beach Island. The chili cookoff runs from 1 pm until 4 pm. Meanwhile, there will be live music to spice up the event even more! The acoustic duo known as A Pair Of Jacks will be performing live during the event. The Jacks are both members of the great local band, Shallow Green. A Pair Of Jacks will be jamming from 2 pm until 5 pm on Saturday.

The event is open to the public. There is a nominal fee of ten dollars for the Chili Cookoff contestants. Everyone else gets in for free and is encouraged to sample some of Ship Bottom Brewery's original local beers that have made them a staple among Ocean County breweries. Furthermore, proceeds from the event will be donated directly to The American Foundation For Suicide Prevention. So, it's not just a fun afternoon, it's for a great cause as well.

Here's a little bit about Ship Bottom Brewing.

According to their website, Ship Bottom beers are brewed for the Beach. The brewers at Ship Bottom are proud to call the beach home and have crafted their brands for the watermen, surfers &  Summertime visitors. The company's 15 Barrel production Brewery is Bayfront in Beach Haven NJ with an incredible Bay View. Since opening in 2016 Ship Bottom has expanded to multiple locations including a Beer Garden at Linvilla Orchards, in Media. Pennsylvania, and their newest location in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.

Ship Bottom Brewery is open year round all  locations, weather permitting. So, make sure to stop by any of these locations to sample or purchase their Handcrafted Brands. However, If you can’t visit one of their four locations, you can purchase the brands at your favorite Bar, Restaurant or Liquor Store in New Jersey and South Eastern Pennsylvania.

Finally, attendees are encouraged to sample and vote for their favorite chili, as prizes will be awarded to the Ship Bottom Brewery Chili Cookoff Winners!
