Lacey Township Has Quite A Few Hometown Heroes
Last night, Lacey Township’s own Drew Delgado was interviewed on television by Joe Torres of New York’s Eyewitness News on ABC channel 7. Drew Delgado, the local Ocean County guy who put together a joke event on Facebook for what he called a “Walmart self-checkout Christmas party” at the Lanoka Harbor store, has made a huge splash along with his wife, Nicole, and a large support team made up of local folks, and a few local organizations, by turning what was meant to be a joke into a huge community event. The outpouring of love and support cannot be measured. It’s astounding!
10’s of thousands of people responded to the R.S.V.P. Drew had originally stated, ““I genuinely believe that something good can come from this.”
And now because of Drew’s kindness and compassion, this party has turned into a huge charity event. Drew’s wife, Nicole Delgado did a lot of the leg work in getting local organizations involved, including the Lacey Elks Lodge #2518. They stepped up big time and offered their services.
