Road Trip Idea: College Football Tour In Jersey This Weekend
What’s up, Rat Rock Nation?! If you’re looking to do something this weekend…how about a fun college football game in Jersey? The weather is supposed to be great (crisp and clear) and you can have a nice little Autumn road trip of the Garden State!
First…you can drive down to Princeton on Friday to watch the Princeton Tigers as they play Columbia at in an Ivy League battle. The Tigers are coming in to the game at 1 and 1. So enjoy some football…and walk around the same campus that Albert Einstein roamed when he came to America.
Then…the next day…head to West Long Branch as Monmouth University takes on Lehigh on Saturday at 1 PM (EST). The Hawks come into the game at 1 and 3 while Lehigh is also 1 and 3 thus far. Monmouth is coming off a difficult loss to Lafayette in which the Hawks committed ten penalties while turning the ball over twice. The Monmouth campus is gorgeous this time of year…and that’s the same location where they filmed the movie Annie! BAM!
And if you have time after the Monmouth game…quickly head up to New Brunswick as Rutgers goes against Wagner at home on Saturday at 3:30 PM (EST). The Scarlet Knights are 3 and 1 and looking to get back in the win column after last week’s loss to Michigan. Fans can also watch the game on television if you have the Big Ten Network on your cable package. One cool thing that will happen at the game is that the 1976 team will be honored at half-time. The ’76 Scarlet Knights went 11 and 0 that year under coach Frank Burns.
(Fairleigh Dickinson has a bye this weekend otherwise we’d include them. They next play on October 7th).
Enjoy the football this weekend in the great Garden State!!
