Silverton’s Annual Fall Festival Is Just A Couple Of Weeks Away

The event, in it's second decade, was sadly scrapped last year due to a vicious rain storm that ruined the weekend. However, the volunteers are confident that Mother Nature will cooperate this year, and are planning on making this year's Fall Fest bigger and better than ever!

The day begins with the annual 80-100 mile motorcycle/classic car poker run. Registration for the poker run will be from 9am until 11am at the Fire House located at 15 Kettle Creek Road in the Silverton section of Toms River. The donation amount is 25 dollars per rider, and 10 dollars for an additional passenger. Furthermore, the cost for a classic car or hot rod is 20 dollars. Prizes will be awarded for the three best poker hands.

Meanwhile, at the same time the motorized rubber is hitting the road, the rubber soles will be as well. It's the inaugural Silverton Volunteer Fire Company 5K. The mood last October 1st was so bad throughout town when our beloved fire company had to cancel our much anticipated Fall Festival due to the weather. However, everyone involved is now excited that the date of Saturday October 7th 2023 will bring bright sunshine, seasonal temps, and all the fun that is the Silverton Fall Festival. Once again, it is scheduled to take place behind the firehouse in the Fire Company's huge parking lot. This Community Festival will go from 11am until 6pm, and feature live music from The Pickles! Moreover, there will be plenty of food, beer, and wine for sale. Keep the little ones entertained all day with FREE inflatable children's rides. Plus, community craft vendors, fire equipment displays, police demos from the motorcycle and canine units, and so much more. One of the more interesting activities to witness is the Fire Company's extraction demonstration.
