The 28th New Jersey International Film Festival starts today and will continue to be held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between June 2nd to June 11th.

Organizers will present the selected film screenings throughout the festival both online as well as in-person at Rutgers University–New Brunswick.

The 40 finalists included in the New Jersey International Film Festival were all selected by a panel of judges including media professionals, journalists, students, and academics.

“All the works that we are screening as part of the New Jersey International Film Festival were selected by a panel of judges, including media professionals, journalists, students and academics,” said Al Nigrin, executive director, curator and founder of the Rutgers Film Co-op/New Jersey Media Arts Center.

The festival will highlight several features and documentaries as well as animated, experimental, and short films. Michel Negroponte’s Herd, Christopher Beatty’s feature film Bibi, Alan McIntyre’sStargazer, Kelsey McGee’s Danceable, and many more are among the 2023 lineup.

Festival prize winners will be chosen by the judges in conjunction with the festival director and will be announced via social media on June 12th.
