Get Ready Rat Rockers To Party This Weekend For The Porch Fest of 2023 In Belmar
DEER PARK, NEW YORK - JUNE 2: A group photo of participants and fans during a backyard Arm Wrestling Challenge tournament organized by the Urban Arm Wrestling League on June 2, 2021 in Deer Park, New York. In 2019, Gerren Nixon, 44, started the Urban Arm Wrestling League, a company that sponsors tournaments and promotes the sport on Long Island. Nixon, who has experience as an event promoter, became a fan of arm wrestling back in the 80's after seeing the movie “Over the Top” featuring Sylvester Stallone . Knowing there are not many sponsors for arm wrestling in the United States, Nixon has used his event promotion background to add other elements into the events such as musical performances, live DJs, while making the events like a big party. It has been working as the sport and his league in particular has grown since it’s early days. Nixon, who believes he is the only black arm wrestling league owner, hopes to continue to make the sport more mainstream across the United States. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)

Gotts is the unofficial mascot of the county. Whenever WRAT is hosting an event, people ask if Gotts will be there. there. Like Bigfoot, many people claim to see him in the area. According to Gotts, he was thrown out of home school in Monroe Township. To keep up with his own legend, Gotts likes writing about wacky local news that happens – such as pepperoni vandals. His favorite movie is Point Break, and is a big lover of Miller Lite. His favorite words to live by are “The windshield is always bigger than the rearview mirror”.
