The Wurst Wagon Is Aiming To Be The Best Lunch In Jackson!
Who doesn’t like a good sausage? Am I right? Well, there’s a buzz over in Jackson about a food truck that is serving up sausages, breakfast sandwiches, and more!
A gentleman by the name of Frankie Kowaleski has opened his own lunch truck, which he calls the Wurst Wagon. You, know, as in Bratwurst. The lunch trailer is parked daily in Jackson. The current location is at the corner of Veterans Highway and Grawtown Road.
Frankie seems to be a hard worker too. You are never “sausage” a guy! According to friends and family social media posts, he is their slingin’ sausage and more from about 7 am until 4 pm daily.
Why so early you ask? Well, I mean personally I can have a bratwurst any time of the day. However, the Wurst Wagon is open early, catering to the breakfast crowd with homemade goodness!
Egg and Cheese, Bacon Egg and Cheese, and (of course) Sausage Egg and Cheese sandwiches all on Kaiser Rolls are among the items on the Wurst Wagon’s breakfast menu.
When it comes to lunch, Frankie seems to save the best for ‘wurst (I’m starting to annoy you with my puns by this point I know, but hang in there!).
Now, when I think food truck or lunch cart, I’m first and foremost thinking hot dogs. Be it dirty water dogs, or from the grill, it’s really all about the fixings for me.
Of course, the Wurst Wagon has hot dogs, but that’s only the beginning. The lunch menu includes Keilbasa with or without sauerkraut, as well as a beer-braised Bratwurst dish with cabbage, spicy brown mustard, and something called “crispy pot sticks” which has me hungry.
Other lunch menu items include Chorizo sausage with fresh guacamole, shredded lettuce, cilantro lime crema’, and pickled jalapenos. Are you kidding me??? WOW. A cheese and parsley sausage called Cervellata rounds out the stunning array of out-of-the-ordinary sausage fare, with broccoli rabe, garlic aioli, and parmesan cheese.
Of course, if you just want to go old school, the Wurst Wagon also serves up a Jersey Shore favorite, the Italian Sausage, with peppers and onions. You can get that hot or sweet, of course. The menu states all come on a fresh baked roll.
Side dishes include fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, hash browns, and more. Soda, Gatorade, water, and OJ round out the menu. I think a weekend stop to this wagon wouldn’t be the worst idea for me this weekend!
