Dave & Busters and Jay-Z Might Soon Have An N.J. Connection
Who would have thought that Dave & Busters and Jay-Z might something in common based in New Jersey? The sports and entertainment venue is expecting to open an Atlantic City location on Nov. 20. It will be located at the Tangers Outlet complex, a company rep told Courier Post Online Wednesday (April 5). Previously, the firm anticipated an Oct. 16 opening date. The reason for the delay has not been announced.
Joy Puder, a rep for Dave & Buster’s said the Atlantic City Location will include “a state-of-the-art D&B Sports Bar with a 40-foot WOW wall of high-definition screens.”
She added that the video wall will have “an unparalleled stadium-like viewing experience.”
The store will be located at 2120 Atlantic Avenue, according to a permit application before the state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control, per the publication.
The address matches the former home of the 40/40 Club, a sports bar and lounge run by rap mogul Jay-Z. It operated at Tanger Outlets from 2005 to 2012.
The Texas-based firm also operates the Main Event chain. According to CEO Chris Morris, it plans to open 11 Dave & Buster’s stores in the current fiscal year.
The firm currently has 207 stores open in both brands. They opened eight sites last year.
“We will continue to grow the business,” said Morris, who did not disclose the sites of future openings.
Tanger Outlets holds more than 80 tenants at a 488,000-square-foot, open shopping center in the middle of Atlantic City.
Dave & Buster’s offers arcade games, bowling, virtual reality games, and plenty more according to their website. The venue is known for their massive television screens for watching sports and expansive drink and food menu.
