Have You Been To Fish Fry Friday In Toms River Yet?
With the Lenten season in full swing, many observers often find it hard to have a decent meal out on a Friday night that doesn’t include meat.
With the help of one hard working group of church parishioners, all denominations are enjoying Fish Fry Fridays in Toms River! The Saint Barbara’s Church at 2200 Church Road in Toms River has been holding their 2023 Lenten Fish Fry, every Friday since late February.
The weekly event is open to all.
Moreover, folks are encouraged to come with an appetite for great Lenten friendly food. Dinner hours are Fridays 5pm until 7pm through April 7th. According to the Church’s press release, “This is a great night out with the family where you will enjoy cheerful servers who will bring you each course of these delicious dinners right to your table! “Take-out” is also available.”
However it’s not just fish on the menu!
The menu includes your choice of Pasta Marinara for 14 dollars, Fried Flounder or Shrimp Dinner with fries for 16 dollars, and Fried Seafood Combo with fries for 18 dollars. All are served with soup, dinner roll, dessert and coffee. Water and soda can be purchased for an additional 2 dollars. However, the church does welcome BYOB.
Both cash and credit card payments are accepted.

Incidentally, the church, has been in operation for 50 years. It often hosts an array of fundraising community events. Similarly, one of the more popular is the Saint Barbara Greek Festival, on the outside grounds of the complex, over a 3 day weekend period in September each year. A wide array of Greek food, spirits, and music are served up in a fun, family atmosphere.
