Heavy Reel Brewing In Seaside Hosting Chili Cookoff This Saturday!
Time to chill at the brewery this Saturday, in a matter of speaking.
It’s chili cookoff time at Seaside’s premiere brewery, Heavy Reel. The brewery, which started serving thirsty vacationers and locals alike back in 2018, will be hosting their first annual Chili Cookoff to celebrate National Chili Day, this Saturday February 18th, beginning at 1pm. Heavy Reel is located at 1520 on the Boulevard in Seaside Heights. While the weather outside has been less than frightful, what better way to warm up than with a good old fashioned chili cookoff and an ice cold Heavy Reel brew in your hand?
What’s up for grabs?
Chili chefs from all over the area will be competing for the grand prize of a $100 gift card, a trophy, and of course bragging rights for the best damn chili in Seaside Heights! The rules are simple…
Chefs will have 4 hours to cook their chili. All competition chili must contain one of Heavy Reel Brewing’s beers! Chili will be graded by the judges on a 1 to 10 scale, based on taste, aroma, consistency, and aftertaste. Furthermore, all chili cookoff chefs must supply their own equipment.
What if I just want to go and eat some chili and drink beers?
According to Heavy Reel’s website, as for chili chowers, tickets are available in the link in the bio as well! Tickets are limited so don’t sleep on them! So come grab some beer and get ready to taste some delicious chili!
