WRAT

Rat Rockers Gotts here and was out and about last weekend and went to a very cool and interesting charity event. If you're a fan of Halloween you would have loved this event and it's called I LOVE HORROR,  with all the proceeds donated directly to Deborah Hart and Lung Center.

This event had some great local bands including an Alice Cooper tribute band that rocked the house. Here at the Rat, we are about giving back to those in need. So I took a ride up to see this event and I fell in love with it. It being February I loved that they put the Halloween theme with I Love Horror title.

With all the vendors there I came across actor Brian O' Halloran from the movies Clerks, Clerks two, and what just came out not too long ago Clerks 3. All directed by Jersey's very own Kevin Smith better known as Silent Bob. Well, Brian AKA "Dante" was talking, and let me just say he loves rocking out to the Rat.

I got to ask him about being on the set and making the movies and he had a blast on making them. He said the laughs never ended and couldn't wait to make the other ones and loved the fact that it took place right here in Jersey and at the shore. This event has been going on for a couple of years hosted by the brothers Chris and and Greg Cuneo who are just two great guys who put this great event together.

It took place at VFW across from Star Land Ballroom, so be sure to check it out next year and get ready for a great time if you love Halloween and want to give back and help out, and rock out this event is your on your target and would love it. Thank you for taking the time to check out this post and as always thank you for always rocking out with me and 95.9 The Rat. Much love- Gotts

When looking at the movies that turn 40 in 2023, one thing is very clear: 1983 kind of ruled!

In 1983, a holiday classic was born with A Christmas Story. Meanwhile, a star was born in Tom Cruise thanks to Risky Business. Women started cutting up their sweatshirts thanks to Flashdance, and a new sex symbol was born thanks to that gold bikini in Return of the Jedi. We also said hello to a little friend (Scarface), gave our daughter the shot (Terms of Endearment) and were gagged with a spoon (Valley Girl.)

Here are 29 movies that turn 40 in 2023. Even the biggest cynic would agree that 1983 at the movies was totally tubular.

Gotts is the unofficial mascot of the county. Whenever WRAT is hosting an event, people ask if Gotts will be there. there. Like Bigfoot, many people claim to see him in the area. According to Gotts, he was thrown out of home school in Monroe Township. To keep up with his own legend, Gotts likes writing about wacky local news that happens – such as pepperoni vandals. His favorite movie is Point Break, and is a big lover of Miller Lite. His favorite words to live by are “The windshield is always bigger than the rearview mirror”.
