Was Looking Forward To A Snow Day…Disappointed
I know this sounds strange…but man I was looking forward to a real snow day.
Davey Mac of the Morning Rat Race here and growing up at the Jersey Shore (Spring Lake), a snow day was the single greatest thing to happen to a child.
I would listen religiously to the local radio station just waiting for my school…St. Catharine’s…to be on the list of schools that were CLOSED for the day! Look at the pic below…that’s a photo of a kid who needs the day off!
And still to this very day…I like a nice snow day. Don’t get me wrong. I ain’t talkin’ a full-on blizzard where we’re snowed in like we’re on the planet Hoth from Star Wars.

The exhibition, which is making its last stop in the United States, presents original costumes, models, props and artwork used in the original film trilogy; “Star Wars: A New Hope,” “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.” (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)
I’m talking about a nice five to seven inches of snow that produces some good sledding, baby! My crew and I hit the hills whenever we can!
Instead…we got this…
…And this…
…and this.
Not exactly the snow day I was looking for. But, hey…winter’s not over yet! I’m still holding out hope! Give us one decent snow day, Mother Nature! Thank you!
