A School Cafeteria Worker Stole $1.5 Million Worth Of Chicken Wings
She’s either really hungry, selling them to local restaurants… or prepping for the biggest Big Game Party in the history of the game!
Dateline, Illinois…
66-year-old Vera Liddell was the “food service director” at a school district in Harvey, Illinois. But she just got busted for stealing $1.5 MILLION worth of chicken wings. 1.5 million. That’s a lot of wings!
She’d been working there for at least a decade . . . but during the pandemic, she started over-ordering chicken, and picking it up herself in a district cargo van. And the extra chicken was never brought back to the school. For the longest time, no one noticed that there was food being ordered but not showing up to the school because Vera was in charge of the whole thing and it was all up to her!
So how did they catch up with Vera? Well, she ended up being caught because she overlooked one thing: She was ordering massive amounts of chicken wings . . . but the school never served WINGS to the students “because they contain bones.” Schools don’t like to serve food with bones because they’re a choking hazard and they create more mess to clean up…
It seems like had she ordered boneless wings she’d still be in business… but… it’s not meant to be!
It’s unclear what Vera was actually doing with all those chicken wings. She’s currently being held on a $150,000 bond.
