Possible Bias Attack At Local Church Investigated
Local Update: Another animal rescue in Ocean County
The State Attorney General’s Office is now investigating a possible bias attack at a predominately Black church in Monmouth County on Saturday. The APP reports that the location was the Trinity Episcopal Church in Asbury Park. State, local and federal authorities are involved in the investigation. State officials are urging the public and faith-based communities to remain vigilant. Anyone with information on the Trinity Episcopal Church incident is asked to contact Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Detective Brian Hammarstrom at 800-533-7443.
A Sea Bright police officer has been arrested and charged in connection to allegedly stalking and harassing his ex-girlfriend. 46-year-old local resident Erich Bennet is accused of showing up to her residence unannounced and physically threatened her. Bennet also reportedly used departmental resources dozens of times to access personal information of the victim. He remains in Monmouth County Jail as he awaits his first court appearance on February 6th.
Investigators say the woman charged with posing as a high school student in New Brunswick is a Rutgers graduate. District officials say 29-year-old Hyejeong Shin was arrested after they learned she filed false documents to attend New Brunswick High School. Campus officials say she graduated from Rutgers in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. No motive has been revealed yet.
Another animal rescue and home owner bust in Ocean County. This time in Toms River and this time with rabbits. The home on Harrison Road housed 22 rabbits in a run down shed in the backyard. The rabbits are being relocated to the Toms River Animal Shelter for care.”
