Prosecutors in Ocean County are calling for two suspects in an animal hoarding case to be returned to jail for violating terms of their release.  The two women were charged with animal cruelty after authorities found 180 dogs and cats living in filth in a Brick Township home.  The women are also charged with endangering a child because the teenaged daughters of one of the suspects was living with them.  Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer says the two allegedly went to the Ocean County Animal Shelter to demand the return of seven of the dogs.  He says this violated terms of their release.

The Brigantine City Council is calling for a moratorium on offshore wind development following the deaths of several whales recently.  Three whales have washed ashore on Atlantic County shores in the last month alone.  Federal officials say there’s no confirmed link between the deaths and wind development but the Brigantine City Council moved forward anyway.  The Marine Mammal Health and Stranding Response Program at NOAA, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, was able to identify the cause of death of some of he whales.  Of those that didn’t decompose too much, 40% were human related due to ship strikes and entanglement with fishing gear. The Murphy administration has said that off shore wind farms will move forward.
