I Had An Artist Paint My 2 Dogs As “Stepbrothers” !
Three of my favorite things in this world are my two dogs, Oakley and Cash, and the movie Stepbrothers, starring Wil Ferrell and John C. Reilly. So when an artist in California suggested to me to have a portrait I was having done of them to be made in the style of the famous Stepbrothers movie poster, I was like “PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE! Let’s do it!”
It all started with our nighttime air talent, and perpetual 16 year old, Minister. He has this awesome puppy named Vader who almost looks like he could be Gremlin. Minister was telling me how this friend of his, Kelly Simon out in LA, was working on a painting of little Vader dressed like Prince…Not a Prince, Prince, as in the Revolution! Meanwhile, his other dog Topper, a gorgeous Golden Lab was being portrayed in a Navel Admiral type coat. At first, I didn’t believe it. After all, we’re talking about a guy who collects Batman memorabilia and displays it in our studio! Then, I saw the photos of Kelly’s work! I was hooked!
At her request, I sent Kelly a few different photos of my boys at different angles, so she could get a decent idea of their 3D facial structure. Within days she texted us a mock up of how she was thinking of portraying my fellas. Just as they are: Two kids from different families blended together in a love hate relationship…Stepbrothers! There it was, a take on the actual movie poster from 2008. One of my all time favorite flicks! I said “go for it”! Well, go for it she did! As you can see from the photos, Kelly has an unbelievable eye for detail. I feel she did an amazing job capturing the souls of my pooches! Thanks Kelly and Minister!
