Pizza Hut In Silverton Is One Step Closer To Opening!
Driving south on Hooper Avenue in Silverton I notice something over the weekend that made me stop and take a couple of photos. The new Pizza Hut sign! The marque has gone up in the new strip mall that already houses an AT&T store at 1882 Hooper Avenue Toms River. This can only mean one thing. Pizza Hut is ready to drop their hat… or Hut, in the ring, when it comes to the glut of gluten in the Silverton section of Toms River.
As I have previously written about here, Hooper Avenue boasts no less than 9 straight-up pizza places in a little over a one-mile stretch, from the Brick border to Ocean County College. Pizza Hut will make it 10, and that doesn’t include two restaurants in that stretch that also feature pizza on their menus!
Notwithstanding, it’s not all overkill. When it comes to Pizza Hut, there are some very passionate fans. Folks who remember family weekend dinners, and childhood birthday parties inside the big “Hut”. Some still talk about the much-loved Pizza Hut lunch buffet that was very popular from the 1970s through the 1990s. Well, my nostalgic friend, you can forget all that!
This is Pizza Hut 2023! A small walk-in storefront in a strip mall that has little room for dining compared to the glorious Pizza Huts we’ve come to know. It looks to be more like its current competitors of the day, Dominos and Papa John’s.
However, there is one thing I have heard about this particular Pizza Hut, that if true, will not only differentiate itself from those corporate counterparts but from the other local places on Hooper Avenue, vying for Silivertonian’s pizza “dough”. That is a Drive Thru! Yes, a freaking drive-thru! Ok, I’m in!
