Breaking—Brittney Griner Freed From Russian Prison

Breaking news—women’s basketball star Brittney Griner has been released from a Russian prison and is on her way back to the United States.

According to CBS News, Griner will be exchanged for Russian prisoner Viktor Bout.   CBS News is also reporting that American prisoner Paul Whelan has not been released by Russia.

Griner had been under Russian custody since February of 2022.
