There’s good news for drivers when it comes to the price of gasoline. Experts say filling up is as cheap as it was back in February, just before the invasion by Russia of Ukraine set prices soaring. The national average is three-dollars and 47-cents per gallon. Meantime, in New Jersey it’s three-66 per gallon.
New Jersey is hoping to close the education gaps caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The New Jersey Partnership For Student Success will utilize volunteers and community groups to help students, educators, and schools in an effort to address learning loss. The goal is to recruit up to five thousand individuals who can serve as tutors and mentors or provide wrap around services. The state will put at least ten-million-dollars worth of federal funding towards the initiative, including three-million from the American Rescue Plan Act.
The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance is fighting to ensure that health insurance includes abortion care. New regulations are expected to be in place by January first requiring that reproductive care is covered by health insurance plans offered in the state. Earlier this year, Gov. Murphy signed a law codifying the right to have the procedure performed.
Three suspects are facing multiple charges after an alleged carjacking ends once they realized the car had a flat tire in Manalapan. Authorities are saying the incident unfolded around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning at a Walgreens on Gordons Corner Road. A woman was waiting for AAA near her car that was in the store’s parking lot. Three men forced open her door and she fled on foot and called 911. The car was abandoned a short time later after the flat tire was discovered. Three Brooklyn New York men were arrested and charged shortly after they left the vehicle.
Say goodbye to The Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museum on the Atlantic City boardwalk. It will close its doors for good on December 31st. The iconic museum that was a major draw for tourists strolling the boardwalk, has been in operation for more than 26 years, opening its doors in June of 1996. Officials are saying the museum is closing due its agreement with a local franchisee expiring. The space will be re-imagined and converted for a different use.
