25 Million To Be Spent On Revolutionary War Sites In NJ, Including Monmouth County

Big bucks going to be spent on a bunch of historic revolutionary war sites in New Jersey including Monmouth Battlefield State Park in Freehold and Manalapan. Governor Murphy says, in all, ten revolutionary war sites will share 25-million in federal funds from the American Rescue Plan in preparation for the nation’s 250th Anniversary in 2026. More revolutionary war battles and skirmishes were fought in New Jersey than anywhere else. Other sites awarded funds include Washington’s Crossing in Hopewell, Princeton Battlefield State Park, and Proprietary House in Perth Amboy.
A judge is ruling that SeaStreak’s ferry service between Monmouth County and New York City will begin, as planned, on December 5th. New York Waterway was seeking to block the ferry service from starting, but the judge sided with Monmouth County. Schedule information at Seastreak dot com.
The co-owners of a Garden State pharmaceutical marketing company are pleading guilty for conspiracy to commit millions in healthcare fraud. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Lee Nichols, of Fair Haven, and Samantha Zaretzky of Wayne admitted that they used their company, Synergy Medical LLC, to manipulate how health insurance plans for customized drugs are processed, screened, and paid for. The scheme caused 38-million dollars in losses to several health insurance plans between April 2014 and June 2016.
From South Jersey: A Vineland man is facing up to 12 years in prison for the drug related death of a teenager. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s office is saying 44-year-old Freddie Smith plead guilty to selling drugs containing fentanyl to an 18-year-old in a Wawa parking lot in March of 2020. The teen was later found dead in his family’s home. Smith’s sentencing is scheduled for January 9th.
Marijuana in the news: Two new minority owner marijuana businesses were unanimously approved by Neptune Township Committee. One for a pot growing company, the other for distribution. Both will operate out of a warehouse space in Neptune but neither will dispense to the general public or medicinal users.
