In the first ever Halloween special, host Count D, (Matt “Piggy D” Montgomery), the bassist from Rob Zombie’s band, conducts an in-depth interview with Metallica guitar master, Kirk Hammett. Kirk is not only known for his masterful guitar work in Metal’s most successful band, he’s known to have an intense passion for all things horror. In fact, Kirk has amassed quite the horror memorabilia and poster collection, which includes great horror films like “Frankenstein”, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, “The Exorcist” , and “Nosferatu.”
Kirk was initially hooked on horror after watching the 1962 film, The Day of the Triffids when he was 5 years old. That led to “Dracula”, “Frankenstein”, and The Mummy”. In the past, Kirk has opened up the vaults of his massive personal collection of science fiction and horror art and has taken it on the road. Kirk has been collecting hundreds of billboards, placards and lobby cards for over three decades. The traveling collection is called, “It’s Alive!” and contains more than 100 pieces of graphic art hailing back to the days of Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. He also owns a comic book collection that could choke a horse.
