Plus:  Paper Bags Could Come Back For Grocery Delivery

Authorities in Monmouth County are saying an attempted auto theft happened in "close proximity" to Governor Phil Murphy's Middletown mansion.  The suspects are being described as two men wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, in a BMQ who ran off when a neighbor saw them trying to get into a garage.  All happened Sunday afternoon around 3:30.  Authorities are declining to say just how close the house is compared to the Governor's home near the Navesink river, police patrols in the area have increased.

Marijuana in the news!  Atlantic City's planning board is endorsing a proposal to create a Green Zone Redevelopment Plan.  The plan calls for legal marijuana retail centers, space for growing operations including manufacturing and wholesale businesses.  The proposed zone, which nearly passed unanimously, must go before the city council for a vote.  The proposed green zone includes Boston to Maryland Avenue, including both sides of Atlantic and Pacific Avenues and the Orange Loop District.  City council has a public hearing and final vote set for the plan during the next scheduled meeting on September 21st at 5p.m.

Back in May the state outlawed single use plastic and paper bags at grocery and other stores… and we all switched to reusable bags.  Now they’re considering an amendment to bring back paper bags for home delivery grocery services.  That’s because the grocery stores that do home delivery are delivering the groceries in reusable bags so people who use that service are getting tons of them.  Simple fix, really.  Use a clean box or paper for grocery delivery.
