On Saturday, September 24th, 2022, the Orange Loop Amphitheater will host the debut of “Frantic City”, another cool music festival featuring 12 bands.
If you have never been to The Orange Loop, here’s some info from the Frantic City website: The Orange Loop Amphitheater is the centerpiece of a vibrant three-block section of Atlantic City that is filled with one-of-a-kind restaurants, bars, coffee shops, music venues, and more. Be sure to check out establishments such as Bourre for New Orleans-themed food and drink and Hayday for your coffee cravings. For traditionalists, Atlantic City offers great old-school offerings from the likes of Tony’s Baltimore Grill, The White House Sub Shop, and The Knife and Fork Inn.
All the entertainment begins at Noon and will be hosted by Saturday Night Live alum Fred Armisen. I love Fred’s work, especially on the show “Portlandia.” He’s such a versatile talent and a really funny guy. So Fred Hosting this festival is as cool as the musical acts who’ll be appearing.
The festival line-up includes Car Seat Headrest, Yo La Tengo, Snail Mail, Murder City Devils, Shannon, and The Clams, Rocket From The Crypt, Superchunk, The Bouncing Souls, Samiam, Titus Andronicus, Protomartyr, and Control Top.
Let’s not forget all the other things that make this festival even cooler, like the unique vendors who’ll be on site. Everything from a pop-up vinyl record shop to original artists and crafters displaying their creations. Plus, food trucks galore.
As far as parking goes, there’s plenty of it surrounding the OLA. Recommended lots include Kentucky Parking at 129 S. Kentucky Avenue. There is another lot at 123 S. Kentucky Avenue. Outdoor parking can also be found in a lot behind Bourre (201 S. New York Avenue). There is also a nearby indoor garage situated at 19 S. New York Avenue.
Just a heads up, check the Covid policy before you head to A.C. because it can change at a moment’s notice. At the moment, this appears on the Frantic City website: Please note that preventative health measures such as masks, proof of a negative COVID-19 test, or a full COVID-19 vaccination, may be required for this show. Any policy updates will be communicated as soon as possible and will be shared on our website and social media as well as via emails to ticket purchasers. For further info on vaccinations please visit Vaccines.gov for provider locations and more.
