The man accused of killing his six-year-old son is pleading not guilty in his death. Christopher Gregor entered the plea Monday in the death of Corey Micciolo, who investigators say died from blunt force impact to his chest and abdomen after an incident on a treadmill at his home. An assistant prosecutor says they offered to make a plea deal that would have led to 30-years-in prison without early parole.
Community complaints in Brick Township are leading to three drug arrests. Police say last Monday they stopped Ricardo Calderon in connection to an investigation into illegal activity at a home located on Homestead Drive. Investigators discovered roughly 100 suspected Fentanyl pills, approximately nine grams of cocaine, and over 100 wax folds of heroin. Police later arrested Frank Russo Junior and Matter Russo in connection to the operation. They’re all facing charges for drug distribution.
Legal marijuana in the news: The APP reports that the Zen Leaf Dispensary in Neptune has been given the green light to sell recreational marijuana to people over 21. However, Zen Leaf’s website doesn’t reflect that yet. If true, it would bring the number of recreational pot shops in Monmouth County to: TWO. Green light. See what I did there?
