CLIFTON, NJ - MAY 20: A line of cars waits for gas outside Costco May 20, 2004 in Clifton, New Jersey. Higher gas prices are turning out to be a key election-year issue in the United States. Costco, a wholesale merchandise distributor, recently was compelled to make its gas--about a quarter cheaper than elsewhere--available to non-members of their service.

If you have a Costco membership, you’re in the clear. Those who stop at the store’s gas stations regularly will have to make a decision rather quickly.

It has been reported that as of July 5, 2022, those who want to purchase gasoline at Costco pumps in New Jersey must have an active membership.

According to the Courier Post, signs have been posted this week at the Costco locations here in New Jersey, however, now it is being questioned if it’s even legal. Regular unleaded gas was priced at $4.38 per gallon while it’s now over $5 in most parts of the state.

There has yet to be an official announcement posted by Costco.
