East Side Dave’s Top 5 Rock Songs For The Beach!
East Side Dave here and on the Morning Rat Race today I was surprised to hear Carl say that he doesn’t like music at the beach! Whaaaaaaa???
I’m sorry, but I must disagree with this controversial stance! First of all, I love going to the beach with my Beats speaker and pumping out the RAT app. And secondly, music at the beach, for me, is like peanut butter & jelly! It perfectly fits the happy vibe of the sand and water!
In my opinion, I just think Carl hasn’t found the right music! And thus a list must be created! Behold! It’s East Side Dave’s Top 5 Rock Songs For The Beach! And it starts right now!
5.) “Surf Wax America” by Weezer
We’re off to a fun and bright start with this up-tempo song from Rivers Cuomo and company as they talk about catching some waves.
4.) “Oceans” by Pearl Jam
Eddie Vedder, a well-known surfing enthusiast, sings about nature and the ocean in this classic from Pearl Jam’s first record Ten.
3.) “Summer Babe” by Pavement
Nineties indy stars Pavement wrote this fantastic number about a summer fling that absolutely rocks.
2.) “Summertime Blues” by The Who
Pete Townshend. Roger Daltrey. John Entwistle. And Keith Moon. Absolute legends who not only cover this Eddie Cochran classic but turn it up a notch. Awesome.
1.) “Rockaway Beach” by The Ramones
Come on. The word “beach” is in the title of this song and it’s the damn Ramones. This is numero uno on our list.
