Shore Awards Check in: Pete & Elda’s – Best Pizza
Dateline: A rainy Friday in May. My date? My daughter Jynell, otherwise known as the bottomless stomach. Our task? A daunting one. Shore Awards check-in for lunch at the now 2-time winner of top pizza at the jersey shore, of course, it’s Pete n Elda’s bar and Carmine’s Restaurant, highway 35 in Neptune.
Now I’ve been going there long before I even had a family, as well as with my family, so nowadays we usually expand our palates past their delicious thin crust pizza. After all, that’s another shore award and another check-in! today was about lunch, and the place was mobbed.
The bar was almost full of folks who have a better life than me on a Friday at 12 pm! The dining rooms were quite busy but we were able to snag a table by a window. Just waters and seltzers today, but we started our food fest off with some honey mustard wings! my daughter then ordered the grilled chicken caesar salad, which was huge. I grabbed something off the specials menu, a roast beef and gravy plate with disco fries. Hey, don’t judge jimmy! the staff is always great here and very efficient. we were in and out in no time with doggie bags.
I took some pics of the place and of my food and some other table’s pizza! Shhhhh. The thing I think many people miss out on about this place is they have a huge menu. sandwiches, burgers, steaks, chops, seafood, etc.
They are almost too well known for their pizza. maybe next time you check in to Pete and Elda’s you can try one of their “other” dishes!
