On a recent spring Friday, my wife drove up from toms river to meet me at the station for a rare weekday lunch together. We both decided on dropping by 10th Ave Burrito in the pyanoe plaza, Belmar. This plaza is loaded with great places to grab a bite so it’s a real testament that 10th ave has lasted so long since moving from its actual original location, on tenth ave, some years ago. That’s right, for those of you that don’t know this little belmartian oddity, the 10th Avenue Burrito company is off of 8th avenue.
Nevertheless, we ventured into the empty restaurant at about 11:30, for an early lunch. The first thing you notice about this place is that it screams Mexicali kitsch. From the lucha wrestling masks, mexican movie posters, and even painted bicycles adorning the walls, this place is like a plate of loaded nachos to look at! The lunch menu was easy to navigate and they still have the ohption to go virtual menu with a quick qr code scan. we enjoyed our simple lunch of chips and guac, dirty hippie veggie quesadilla, and southwestern grilled chicken salad. a couple of coronas later and we were out. not before I snagged just a few photos of the interior and our dishes.
It’s easy for myself and the rat crew to see why this place won the big enchilada shore award for Mexican joints, we work in town. You should give it your own lunchtime spot shot.
Oh, speaking of shots, they boast many different tequilas at the adjacent small hip bar!
