Leonardo Dicaprio attends the 8th Annual Clinton Global Citizen Awards.

Top o’ the mornin’ to ya, Rat Rock Nation!   It’s your favorite red-headed radio personality, East Side Dave, here to give you another awesome and action-packed list!

As we know, it’s now March…which means it’s St. Patrick’s (and St. RATrick’s) season!   So, we’re making a fun list for ya!

Behold…it’s East Side Dave’s Top 5 Irish Gangster Movies To Watch On St. Patrick’s Day!   And it starts right now!

5.) Gangs Of New York

Leonardo DiCaprio is sensational and Daniel Day-Lewis gives the performance of a lifetime in this classic from Martin Scorcese about the Irish versus the “Natives” during the time of the Civil War.

4.) Road To Perdition

Hollywood legends Paul Newman and Tom Hanks are at odds in this gritty and dark tale of an Irish mob leader who turns on one of his guys.

3.) State Of Grace

The most under-appreciated film on our list, State Of Grace has an absolutely amazing cast (Ed Harris, Sean Penn, Gary Oldman, John Turturro, John C. Reilly, Robin Wright, and more) and is a modern day masterpiece about an Irish gang in Hell’s Kitchen taking on the Italian mafia.

2.) The Departed

Martin Scorcese makes it to the list for a second time (as does Leonardo DiCaprio) in this epic story of the Irish mob in Boston.   Jack Nicholson is absolutely unbelievable in this brilliant movie.

1.) Miller’s Crossing

The Coen Brothers turn in one of the greatest gangster films ever in the iconic flick about an Irish gang in Chicago going up against the Italians.   Beautiful visuals, brilliant acting, a fantastic story with twist and turns, and phenomenal directing from Joel and Ethan Coen…this movie deserves the number one spot on our list.
