Dateline Pennsylvania. Hockey fans in central PA broke a world record on Saturday by tossing over 50,000 teddy bears on the playing ice all at once. The play-by-play call is hilarious... scroll down for that.
It happened during a minor league game between the Hershey Bears and Hartford Wolf Pack.
The team has been collecting teddy bears – stuffed animals of all kinds really – and donating them to local children’s organizations for a few years now. They encourage fans to bring stuffed animals, designate a game as the game to throw ‘em on the ice and the fans come out in droves…
As soon as the Bears scored their first goal, fans tossed 52,341 stuffed animals on the ice. They're all being donated to the Boys & Girls Club and other charities. Here's the play-by-play by local announcers, Zach Fisch and Mitch Lamoureux, have the call...
Once the stuff was cleaned off the ice… the Bears went on to defeat the Hartford Wolf Pack, 5-0.
