Ho, ho, ho!   “East Side” Dave of the Morning Rat Race here!   And by gum I sure do love Christmas!

The candy canes!   The reindeer!   SANTA!

And, of course, one of the best things about this holiday is the films.   I mean, Christmas Movies is practically an entire cinematic genre unto itself!

So, just like St. Nick, we’re making a list…and we’re checking it twice!   Behold!   It’s East Side Dave’s Top 5 Christmas Movies!   Happy Holidays one and all!

5.) National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

We’re getting things started with Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo, Randy Quaid, and company as they have an absolute debacle of a Christmas!

4.) Scrooged

Bill Murray gives us the best and funniest take on Charles Dicken’s Christmas Carol with this hysterical flick!

3.) Elf

Will Ferrell and Jon Favreau created this instant Christmas classic in 2003 and it may be the last truly great Christmas movie!

2.) It’s A Wonderful Life

It’s impossible to experience Christmas Eve without turning It’s A Wonderful Life on NBC at 8 o’clock.   Some traditions are perfect.   This is one of them.

1.) A Christmas Story

Come on.   Nobody beats Ralphie.   A Christmas Story has everything…laugh-out-loud funniness, sweet nostalgia, and a truly magical quality that make it the King of Christmas Movies.
