He wrote hit songs for other singers before his time on The Monkees? Yessir! He wrote the 60’s hits "Mary Mary" and "Different Drum"! Or, maybe you didn’t know that in 1981 he won a Grammy for the Video Of The Year for the long form video, Elephant Parts?
Well he did! In fact here is a clip of one of the songs of the video. Not bad for a guy who was in a band Jimi Hendrix opened up for! Look it up!
