Hoffman’s Ice Cream Owner, Bob Hoffman, Has Passed Away
The Jersey Shore is mourning the loss of a local legend. Robert “Bob” Hoffman of Hoffman’s Ice Cream died on Saturday, November 6 at the age of 90.
Bob and his wife of over 69 years, Anne, first opened a Carvel store in 1954 together. This lead to the creation of two Hoffman’s Ice Cream stores with locations in Point Pleasant Beach and Spring Lake Heights (1986).
The following statement was shared to the Hoffman’s Ice Cream Facebook page:
Thank you, Mr. Hoffman, for the kindness you showed us and the guidance you bestowed over the years. So many of us carry your advice with us like treasure – we knew if it came from you, it was as good as gold. You taught us the importance of doing the simple things the right way and the value of a smile and a thank you. It made us happy to make you proud. On behalf of the Hoffman’s Ice Cream staff, past and present, we love you, we will miss you, and we will never forget you. Rest in peace.
