Nirvana (Finally?) Gets The Techno/House Treatment On Covers Album
Nirvana fans that have hoped someone would give the band’s music the techno/house treatment will be happy to learn of a new covers album out now. And for those of you who are furious at this thought, please proceed with caution.
Nirvana Reimagined As House & Techno contains 27 tracks to coincide with Kurt Cobain’s age at his untimely death and the number of years he’s been gone from this Earth. Per Louder Sound, the album comes via electronic music producers Jonathan Hay, Cain McKnight, and 41x collectively referred to as TECHROW. A statement on the album noted, “The electronic musical project is committed to further helping Cobain’s unapologetic narrative of LGBTQ+ visibility, advancement and advocating for victims of rape and sexual abuse.”
Louder Sound also added, “All proceeds from ‘Nirvana Reimagined As House & Techno’ will be donated to charitable organizations, including GLAAD and MusiCares, to support the wellbeing of marginalized communities.”
The cover of “Come As You Are” can be heard below via its kink-tastic music video. (WARNING: Some NSFW imagery ahead.)
Nirvana Reimagined As House & Techno is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
