Today marks the 39th Anniversary of one of the most notorious moments in late night television (and wrestling).   It was on July 28th, 1982, where comedian Andy Kaufman and wrestler Jerry Lawler appeared on NBC's Late Night with David Letterman.

Kaufman and Lawler had been having a wrestling feud in Memphis...and they decided to take things up a notch.   The unlikely duo decided to "work" David Letterman by staging a confrontation with a physical ending.   After some smack talk, Lawler stood up and laid Kaufman out with a severe slap across the face.   And TV history was made.

Lawler admitted years later that both he and Kaufman were in on it together...but still...what an incredible moment.   Take a look at the full, uncensored video below!
