New Jersey Resuming Indoor Sports On January 2
Governor Phil Murphy announced this morning that indoor sports will be allowed to resume on Saturday, January 2 in New Jersey.
This includes scholastic, youth, and adult recreational sports games and practices throughout the state.
The total capacity is now 10 or fewer individuals amongst the athletes, coaches, and fans.
“We know sports are important for both the physical and mental wellness of our youth and our other residents,” Murphy said during a COVID-19 briefing. “We will continue to closely watch the outbreak data and reserve the right to pull this back if we must.”
The pause on indoor sports was originally implemented on December 5. The prohibition on interstate sports will remain in effect.
