Dave Grohl is seemingly always up for a fun challenge, so when he was “called out” by 10-year-old viral sensation Nandi Bushell for a drum-off, Grohl naturally responded.

Bushell fired the first shot in this challenge on August 17 by doing a drum cover of the Foo Fighters hit “Everlong.” As with most covers Bushell shares, she crushed it. In the description of the video on YouTube, Bushell says, “I LOVE ‘Everlong.’ It’s really hard to play as it’s so fast but so much FUN!”

Everlong by the Foo Fighters Drum Cover

My dream is to one day jam with Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins and all the @Foo Fighters! Mr Grohl I would love to have a drum battle with you! I LOVE Everlong i...

Grohl responded on August 29 with the video below and note he borrowed his daughter Harper’s kit to do so. Grohl opens playing “Everlong” and saying, “I haven’t played that song since the day I recorded it in 1997. Our drummer Taylor Hawkins plays that song on tour for us almost every night. But Nandi, in the last week, I’ve gotten at least 100 texts from people all over the world saying, ‘This girl is challenging you to a drum-off. What are you gonna do?'”

What Grohl does is challenge Bushell to play the Them Crooked Vultures song “Dead End Friends,” and he then proceeds to play the song.

Ever up the challenge, Bushell responded to Grohl saying, “This is UNREAL! I can’t believe Dave Grohl actually accepted my drum battle, Thank you! Now it’s my turn to learn ‘Dead End Friends’ by @crookedvultures! I am going to checkmate this one too! Thank you Harper for lending your Dad the kit!”

We’re not sure when Bushell will release her drum cover of “Dead End Friends,” but with pretty much everything she does, it’ll undoubtedly be brilliant.
