Are you looking for ways to beat the heat this summer?
New Jersey residents all throughout the state have been hit hard with some very hot weather in the forecast in recent weeks.
While we experience temperatures above 90 degrees with high heat and humidity, our bodies work extra hard for us to maintain a normal temperature.
According to Readygov, “extreme heat is responsible for the highest number of annual deaths among all weather-related hazards.”
If you are under an extreme heat warning, Readygov suggests the following:
- Find air conditioning.
- Avoid strenuous activities.
- Wear light clothing.
- Check on family members and neighbors.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Watch for heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
- Never leave people or pets in a closed car.
